Yitzhak Teshuva's Daughter Nears Deal to Acquire Hamat Gader Resort

The story · English

Gal Naor, daughter of Israeli businessman Yitzhak Teshuva, is reportedly close to acquiring a 50%-60% stake in the Hamat Gader resort, located in the southern Golan Heights. Naor is in advanced negotiations with the four kibbutzim that currently own and manage the popular tourist destination: Kibbutz Mevo Hama, Kibbutz Kfar Haruv, Kibbutz Afik, and Kibbutz Misgav (which has since been privatized).

The investment is estimated to be between NIS 100 million and NIS 150 million (approximately $27 million to $40 million USD) and will fund an expansion and operational enhancement of the resort. The deal is expected to be finalized in the coming days.

Hamat Gader, situated on 150 dunams (about 37 acres), attracts nearly half a million visitors annually. It features mineral-rich hot springs, a spa, and a crocodile farm housing 120 crocodiles. The planned expansion includes a Wellness Resort with additional spa facilities, restaurants, event spaces, and lodging.

Naor is pursuing this acquisition as part of her broader hospitality ventures. Her existing projects include a 48-dunam development in Ir Yamim, Netanya, a significant project at the Dead Sea, and other initiatives. Naor, an architecture graduate from Pratt Institute in New York, previously managed the renovation of the Plaza Hotel in New York when it was owned by Teshuva, and later led residential and hospitality projects in Israel.

The four kibbutzim currently operating Hamat Gader are Mevo Hama, Kfar Haruv, Afik, and Misgav.
