Court Rejects Richard Ditch's Bid to Halt Maccabi Tel Aviv Share Sale

A Tel Aviv District Court has rejected a request by Richard Ditch for an injunction to freeze share sales in the Maccabi Tel Aviv basketball club. Ditch had sought to halt the distribution of shares announced by the companies of the Recanati family and Shimon Mizrahi.

Presiding Judge Ariel Zimmerman ruled that Ditch's request was "not sufficiently clear" and declined to issue any orders against the share sale. The court determined that a swift arbitration process, as stipulated in the original agreement, would supersede the need for an injunction.

The Recanati family and Shimon Mizrahi issued a statement criticizing Ditch's actions, accusing him of misleading the public and the media. They stated that Ditch had approached the court demanding immediate intervention and that the court had denied his requests, a fact they claim he concealed. "The attempt to present a partial picture of the court's decision to the public and stakeholders of Maccabi Tel Aviv is another example of the conduct that has accompanied recent moves, in which not telling the truth has unfortunately become the norm," their statement read.

They emphasized their commitment to their decisions and their intention to present their full arguments during the arbitration. The statement concluded by asserting that Maccabi Tel Aviv requires stability, investment, and action, not "spin and the creation of false pretenses."
