British TV presenter and former Top Gear star Jeremy Clarkson has disclosed that he has been diagnosed with aggressive cancer, but said it was caught very early. The revelation came in the final two episodes of season 5 of Clarkson’s Farm, the Amazon series in which he currently stars.
During the episodes, Clarkson told his co-stars Charlie Ireland and Kaleb Cooper, "I have cancer." A shocked Cooper replied, "No, you don’t. Where?" Clarkson answered, "It’s nobody’s business." He said he had known about the diagnosis since May and explained that his disappearance a few weeks earlier was because he had undergone a biopsy.
Clarkson also said the season began "when I am in a hospital bed, and we got to the end of the season and I am back in a hospital bed." He told viewers that if his next round of treatment works, "see you in season 6, and if not, then no." Before the finale aired, he warned fans on Instagram that the last episodes were "really, really hard." The season closed with the message, "Take care, everyone."
Clarkson was one of the most familiar faces on Top Gear for nearly two decades. The program aired from 2002 to 2022, ran for 240 episodes, and followed three hosts as they traveled the world testing and discussing unusual cars. He has starred in Clarkson’s Farm since 2021, a series about his attempts to run a farm despite having no prior experience.
