Nauru Opens Embassy in Jerusalem, Citing Biblical Ties

Nauru has officially opened its embassy in Jerusalem, marking a significant diplomatic move. The opening ceremony was attended by Israeli Foreign Minister G Gideon Sa'ar and Nauru Vice President Lionel Aingimea.

During the event, Foreign Minister Sa'ar emphasized the deep historical and biblical roots of the Jewish people and the land of Israel. He stated, "We are the indigenous people of this land, the Land of Israel. Jews are called Jews because their origin is from Judah. Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria are not modern political inventions. These are the ancient names, the biblical names of the places where our history was born."

Nauru's Vice President Aingimea echoed these sentiments, expressing a strong and spiritual connection to Israel. He remarked, "Israel always has a special place in our hearts. We believe with all our hearts that supporting Israel brings us a blessing from God." Aingimea also noted the prominent display of the Israeli flag in churches in Nauru and mentioned that Israel is a country for which they regularly pray.

The establishment of the embassy in Jerusalem underscores Nauru's unwavering support for Israel and its recognition of Jerusalem as the nation's capital. This move aligns with a growing trend of several nations establishing diplomatic missions in Jerusalem.
