IDF Strikes Hezbollah Targets in Southern Lebanon Amid Drone Attack
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed on Sunday that it conducted airstrikes against Hezbollah terror infrastructure in several areas of southern Lebanon, including a weapons storage facility. The strikes were a response to a late-night launch of two explosive-laden drones targeting IDF forces operating in the area of Ras Al Naqoura.
The IDF spokesperson stated that the military also targeted several operatives identified transferring weapons in the area of Kfar Rouman, aiming to neutralize the threat to its forces. The IDF emphasized that measures were taken prior to the strikes to minimize harm to uninvolved individuals, including the use of precision munitions and aerial surveillance. However, the military acknowledged that it is investigating a claim that several uninvolved individuals were harmed as a result of the attacks.
In a separate operation in the Nabatieh area, the IDF also attacked and eliminated Hezbollah operatives. The IDF stated its operations are aimed at removing threats to its forces and preventing Hezbollah from escalating attacks.
