Bomb Found Near Deir al-Asad School, Students Kept Indoors
Police in Deir al-Asad, in Israel's Galilee region, responded to the discovery of a bomb near the Comprehensive High School on Tuesday. Explosives experts were called to the scene to safely dismantle the suspicious device, which was found in a street near the local council building. The operation to disarm the bomb concluded without any injuries.
In response to the incident, the school principal, Mahmoud Omar, instructed students to remain inside the school buildings under the supervision of the teaching staff. He advised parents against coming to the school to pick up their children at this time, citing security instructions and a temporary ban on students leaving the premises. Omar stated that a further message would be sent to parents once students were cleared to leave, urging cooperation for everyone's safety.
An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the bomb's discovery has been opened.
