Empty Drone Crates Found in Negev Desert Raise Security Concerns
Over 30 empty crates, designed for large unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), were discovered near the Bedouin settlement of Bir Hadaj in the Negev desert. The drones themselves were not found at the scene, according to i24NEWS.
These are sophisticated drones capable of carrying significant payloads, which could be used for purposes such as cross-border cargo transport or dropping explosives. Israeli security forces have previously thwarted numerous attempts to smuggle weapons into the country using drones in the southern region.
Currently, there is no information linking the discovered crates to a specific smuggling operation or a planned attack. Authorities are also unaware of the ownership of the drones that were housed in these crates and their current whereabouts.
