Netanyahu Trial: Minister Elkin Testifies in Case 2000

Ze'ev Elkin, a minister in the Ministry of Finance, is testifying in the District Court as part of "Case 2000." This case involves Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is accused of breaching public trust concerning negotiations with Arnon Mozes, the head of the Yedioth Ahronoth media group. Elkin is appearing as a defense witness.

His testimony marks the first for the court since its summer recess. Elkin had begun testifying before the court's break, detailing efforts to prevent the passage of a law that would have banned the distribution of free newspapers in Israel, specifically referencing the "Israel Hayom" law. He also discussed meetings between Netanyahu and Mozes.

"We, of course, knew there was a war with Yedioth Ahronoth, but there was no criminal aspect," Elkin stated regarding the situation.
