Gamliel Loses Appeal, to Be Placed 25th on Likud List; Atiya to Take 20th Spot
The Likud party's internal court has rejected an appeal filed by Minister Gila Gamliel, ruling that a second count of ballots from a polling station in Be'er Ya'akov was reliable. This recount had initially pushed Gamliel down the party's electoral list. Following the recount, Gamliel was slated to be placed 35th, a position considered unrealistic for election.
However, due to the departure of MK Tali Gottlieb from the Likud party, Gamliel will now be placed in the 25th position on the list. MK Eti Atiya is set to be promoted to the 20th spot, which is also a guaranteed position for a woman and was the position Gottlieb had been elected to.
