Hapoel Petah Tikva Seeks Replacement Striker After Riboulier's Injury

Hapoel Petah Tikva is actively seeking a new foreign striker to replace Frank Riboulier, who suffered a season-ending anterior cruciate ligament tear during a match. The injury occurred following a tackle by Maccabi Haifa defender Nigel Lonwijk. While Hapoel Petah Tikva does not believe the tackle was intentional, the club is angered that VAR officials did not review the incident and that Lonwijk was not sent off. The team's CEO, Tim Plotkin, contacted the Referees Association to express his dissatisfaction and demand an explanation. The association cited a poor camera angle that prevented VAR from making a red card decision.

Ivaylo Enev, a 21-year-old striker from Ludogorets, is the leading candidate to fill Riboulier's spot. Enev, who can also play as a winger, was acquired by Ludogorets in January 2025 for €700,000. Last season, he scored six goals and provided assists across all competitions. Hapoel Petah Tikva plans to offer the new foreign striker a net salary of $15,000 per month.

Additionally, the club has signed Hamido Keita, who recently completed his first training session and impressed the team. Players believe Keita can be a worthy replacement for the sold player Chepoyka Songo.
