Palestinian Casualties Reported in Israeli Strikes Across Gaza

Arab media outlets reported on Sunday that Palestinian casualties were sustained in Israeli military strikes targeting central and northern Gaza. The reports emerged amid ongoing hostilities in the region.

Separately, the Palestinian Ministry of Health stated that a 20-year-old named Omar Toubasi was killed by settlers in the village of Haja, near the city of Lilia. The circumstances of this incident are distinct from the Gaza strikes.

In Lebanon, reports indicated that the Israeli military conducted a strike on a vehicle in Nabatieh, resulting in one fatality and two injuries. Further reports from Lebanon mentioned a wave of strikes in Nabatieh earlier in the day.

Meanwhile, Iran announced official changes to its fuel pricing policy. The government stated that the price of gasoline for "heavy consumers" will increase starting Tuesday. This change affects individuals consuming over 110 liters per month, doubling the price per liter to 100,000 rials, approximately four US cents. Iran, previously known for its low fuel prices, had been hesitant to implement such increases due to potential public backlash.

Additionally, Iran's Supreme National Security Council secretary, Mohsen Rezai, announced that Iran will soon designate a limited maritime zone in the Persian Gulf. This zone will commence where the US Navy enforces a maritime blockade and extend into Gulf waters. Any vessel entering this area will be added to Iran's sanctions list. Rezai also mentioned that shipping route maps for the Strait of Hormuz have been agreed upon with Oman and are expected to be signed soon. He further stated that Iran reserves the right to retaliate for a recent US attack in Syria.
