Israel's Top Court Orders Return of Palestinian Families to Jalud Homes

Israel's High Court of Justice, known as BAGATS, has ordered the state to facilitate the return of three Palestinian families to their homes in the village of Jalud. The court's ruling on Sunday, September 6, came after a petition stated the families were expelled by "Israeli extremists." The security forces are now tasked with coordinating the return date with the families, ensuring their safety, and allowing them to bring in necessary equipment for repairs to their homes and essential utilities.

The judges also criticized the military and police for failing to prevent attacks on the families and for not adequately apprehending those responsible. The state has been instructed to inform the court by September 22 about the measures being taken to prevent future attacks and to detain suspects.

The court's decision mandates the government to ensure the families' safe return and the restoration of their homes, highlighting a significant intervention in a case involving alleged settler violence and state security failures.
