Religious Zionism Party Approves Technical Bloc Deal, Seeks More Unifications

The central committee of the Religious Zionism party has approved a technical bloc agreement with the Identity party, empowering party chairman Bezalel Smotrich to pursue further political alliances ahead of the upcoming elections. The decision was made during a meeting of the party's central committee members, which included Smotrich, party director-general Yehuda Wald, and municipal representatives from across Israel.

Smotrich hailed the agreement as a crucial first step in a broader effort to unite the national camp. "This is a time for unity and responsibility in the national camp. I welcome the final approval of the agreement with the Identity party, as a first step towards additional unifications that must be advanced, out of responsibility for the fate of the national camp and the State of Israel," he stated.

In his remarks, Smotrich also directly addressed Ofer Vinter, chairman of the Am Israel party, urging him to join the consolidation efforts. "I call on Ofer Vinter to come to his senses, to unite, and not to cause a loss of votes and the rise of the left to power," Smotrich said, emphasizing the need to prevent vote fragmentation that could benefit the political left.
