Liberman Declines to Endorse Eisenkot for Prime Minister

Avigdor Liberman, chairman of the Yisrael Beiteinu party, held an event Sunday evening to unveil his party's list for the upcoming elections. During his speech, Liberman refused to commit to supporting Gadi Eisenkot for the position of prime minister, stating, "First we will win, and the rest will be after the elections."

Liberman expressed respect and appreciation for Eisenkot, noting they had worked together despite disagreements. He acknowledged a gap between himself and Eisenkot, stating, "There is no ego, but there is a gap between me and Eisenkot." Liberman also commented on efforts by Eisenkot and his associates to make the Labor party the largest, but emphasized his own priority is ensuring the "Zionist bloc" secures enough mandates to win as a coalition.

Liberman's remarks suggest a strategic approach to the elections, prioritizing a collective victory for his bloc over immediate endorsements of specific leadership candidates.
