Maccabi Tel Aviv Shareholder Sues Partner Over Stake Transfer
Richard Deitz has initiated legal proceedings against fellow Maccabi Tel Aviv basketball club shareholder Udi Recanati, seeking urgent relief and arbitration. The dispute arose after Recanati transferred 7.5% of the club's shares to Jason Levien.
Deitz expressed respect for Shimon Mizrahi, a club legend, but strongly criticized what he termed "slandering partners." Deitz accused Recanati of deceit and plotting against him, alleging that Recanati falsely accused him of disloyalty for prioritizing the club over the alleged schemers. Deitz highlighted his 13-year history of unwavering support for Maccabi, emphasizing his lack of involvement in controversies or seeking publicity, and his efforts to mend rifts among the partners.
