President Honors 30 Outstanding Israeli Police Officers

President Isaac Herzog presented excellence awards to 30 police officers at a ceremony held at the President's Residence in Jerusalem. The officers were recognized for their exceptional bravery, professionalism, and dedication. In his address, President Herzog specifically commended the police's response on October 7th, stating, "The police officers of Israel were the first to understand what was happening, the first to respond and arrive, and to engage, saving many lives." He emphasized the critical role of the police in a functioning society, noting, "Without a police force, there is no proper state. Without an excellent police force, there is no prosperous state." The 30 honorees represent a diverse cross-section of the Israeli police force, including field officers and those in staff roles, commanders and non-commissioned officers, and individuals from various religious and community backgrounds. They serve in diverse units such as combat, detective, investigative, intelligence, bomb disposal, community policing, technology, and public relations.

Police Commissioner Danny Levi also spoke at the event, highlighting that excellence is the result of consistent hard work and a commitment to exceeding expectations. He described the recipients as representing the many faces of the Israel Police, united by a single mission to serve the public. Commissioner Levi also extended gratitude to the families of the honored officers, acknowledging their crucial, though often unseen, support. The ceremony celebrated officers who demonstrated courage in operational incidents, led complex investigations, and took risks to protect the public, as well as those who advanced innovative initiatives within the police force.
