IDF Opens Combat Roles to Thousands Previously Deemed Medically Unfit

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has introduced a new medical profile, "Profile 70," for prospective recruits. This change allows individuals who previously received a "Profile 64" due to medical conditions to now be considered for a range of combat and operational roles.

Previously, these medical conditions would have disqualified candidates from combat positions. Under the new policy, thousands of these individuals will now be eligible to apply for positions in units such as the Artillery Corps and the Air Defense Array, which were previously inaccessible to them. The decision was reported by Kan 11.

The reform aims to broaden the pool of eligible candidates for crucial combat roles, addressing potential manpower needs within the military.
