'Greetings from Kfar Yair': Car Torched in a Price Tag Attack in a Village Near Nablus
A car was set on fire and hate graffiti was sprayed overnight, between Monday and Tuesday, by Jewish rioters in Beit Ibairin in the Nablus area. The graffiti read, "Revenge, greetings from Kfar Yair." "Revenge. Greetings from Kfar Yair," the graffiti sprayed on a building in Beit Ibairin.
On Sunday, Master Sgt. (res.) Haim Klomiti, 55, from Tzur Natan, a territorial defense fighter in Battalion 8881 of the Ephraim Brigade, was killed in a deadly attack. Five other people were wounded, including two men in serious condition and three in moderate condition. The attacker was killed.
According to the suspicion, the attacker, Omar Yasin, in his 20s, left Taybeh in a car around 10:30 a.m. and initially arrived at the McDonald's branch at the gas station outside Kfar Yair, where he fired at civilians from the vehicle and wounded two. The attacker fled on Road 5533 and entered Tzur Yitzhak, where he fired at a civilian who was guarding the entrance to the community. The guard was wounded in the hand, and the attacker continued to Tzur Natan and also fired at the guard at the community gate. From there he continued to the community of Sla'it, where he spotted Klomiti, who was in his car, and murdered him. In Sla'it, too, the attacker fired at the guard, but the community's security coordinator fired at him and he fled. He was later identified by security forces, who pursued him and killed him in open territory between Tzur Natan and Taybeh. Security forces raided the attacker's home and detained several of his relatives for questioning. During the arrest of one suspect in assisting the attacker, the suspect tried to stab the police officers. No one was injured in the incident.
