Top Analyst Convicted of Fraud in Investment Scheme
The Tel Aviv District Court convicted Roi Kozin, chief analyst at the "Utrade" company, on numerous counts of aiding fraud under aggravated circumstances. Kozin was involved in a scheme that raised approximately 77 million shekels from about 600 clients.
As part of a plea agreement, Kozin admitted to the charges. The prosecution and defense will jointly request a sentence of 22 months in prison and a fine of 25,000 shekels. The indictment stated that during client recruitment, false representations were made, and crucial information about the company's operations was withheld.
Specifically, clients were presented with fabricated data regarding trading returns, despite Kozin knowing these figures did not reflect the company's actual performance. The scheme involved misleading investors about the profitability and nature of their investments.
