US Ambassador to Israel Falls for Palestinian Village's Media Trap

U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Hammer was reportedly ensnared in a "media ambush" during a visit to the Palestinian village of Turmus Ayya in the West Bank on Saturday. According to the report, local residents orchestrated a planned event to present a settler security vehicle conducting a routine patrol near a nearby farm as an act of trespassing and property destruction.

Ambassador Hammer, described as having a deep affinity for Israel, visited the village, whose residents largely hold American citizenship. During his tour, he was allegedly directed to a strategic point where the settler's security ranger vehicle passed by. Unfamiliar with the local security landscape, Hammer reportedly filmed the vehicle and posted the video to his X account, accompanied by strong criticism of Israeli settlers.

In his post, Ambassador Hammer stated, "I visited Americans in Turmus Ayya to hear disturbing accounts of criminal acts of terror by a group of trespassers who roam with brazenness, on the property of legal property owners. Despicable acts that do not reflect 99% of Israelis."

Israeli settlers expressed deep regret that hostile elements allegedly succeeded in trapping a friendly, pro-Israel ambassador. They emphasized that the truth about Jewish presence and security in Judea and Samaria is stronger than any provocation or false presentation.
