Netanyahu's Wife Feared Assassination, Prevented PM Leaving Home During Hamas Attack, Businessman Claims

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu recently addressed public criticism regarding the failures leading up to the October 7th Hamas attack, asserting that senior military and security officials knew about the impending threat but did not wake him. He stated that intelligence chiefs, including the IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi, Shin Bet head Ronen Bar, and former head of Military Intelligence Aharon Haliva, were aware of numerous signs pointing to an attack but failed to alert him.

Businessman and vocal Netanyahu critic Roni Mana disputed the Prime Minister's account. Mana suggested that Netanyahu's claim of not being woken was a defense strategy. He alleged that Sara Netanyahu was in a state of hysteria on October 7th, requiring sedatives and fearing an assassination attempt. According to Mana, she was so convinced that Hamas was heading for Tel Aviv and that the Prime Minister was a target that she prevented him from leaving their home.

Mana further claimed that Sara Netanyahu requested evacuation to a nuclear shelter, believing they were all going to be killed. He stated that she refused to let her husband travel on the roads due to fears for his life. Mana dismissed other narratives as fabrications by Netanyahu and his advisors, asserting that the account of Sara Netanyahu's panic and actions aligns with her known behavior, citing a similar incident during the Iran conflict where she allegedly ensured the Prime Minister was protected in a Mossad/Shin Bet nuclear shelter.
