Daniel Peretz Concedes Late Goal as Southampton Draws 1-1

Israeli goalkeeper Daniel Peretz played the full 90 minutes for Southampton in their 1-1 draw against Lincoln City on Saturday, in the fifth round of the Championship league. Peretz made four saves and appeared to be on track for a win until Lincoln equalized just three minutes before the end of regulation time.

Lincoln started stronger, but Peretz thwarted their early attempts, making two saves within the first fifteen minutes and later denying Freddi Draper. Southampton took the lead in the 44th minute when James Ward-Prowse assisted Wellington, who scored with a powerful left-footed shot from outside the box into the top corner.

Lincoln increased pressure in the second half. Peretz saved a shot from Chidozie Ogbene in the 80th minute, but Lincoln found the equalizer seven minutes later. Rico Hackett crossed from the left, and substitute Mikael Ladepogd headed in from close range into the top corner. Peretz, left alone against the striker, had little chance to make the save.

This marks Southampton's second consecutive draw, following a 1-1 result against Birmingham City in the previous round. The team remains undefeated in their last four league games, with two wins and two draws, but is still dealing with a four-point deduction from a spying scandal.
