Hapoel Petah Tikva Sells Chipiyoka Songa to Portuguese Club for €700,000

Hapoel Petah Tikva has finalized the transfer of Zambian forward Chipiyoka Songa to Portuguese club Moreirense for €700,000. The 21-year-old player has already arrived in Portugal and completed his medical examinations. Hapoel Petah Tikva will retain 20% of Songa's future transfer rights. The deal, brokered by agents Nir Amir and Nir Karin, faced significant delays and was nearly called off before both parties successfully negotiated its completion.

Songa's move marks the second Zambian player to depart Israel for Europe this year, following Kings Kangwa's transfer from Hapoel Be'er Sheva to Panathinaikos. Songa began his career in Zambia before joining Sektzia Ness Ziona in Israel's second division in the summer of 2023, where he scored 8 goals in 29 matches. He then spent two seasons with Hapoel Petah Tikva, contributing to their promotion to the top league and scoring seven goals with three assists in 25 appearances last season.

During his tenure with Hapoel Petah Tikva, Songa recorded 14 goals and 17 assists. The club expressed gratitude for his contributions, highlighting his integral role in their promotion and successful top-flight season, which concluded with a place in the upper playoff.
