Yesh Atid Members Secure Spots in Bennett-Lapid Alliance Amidst Departures

Following a wave of resignations from the Yesh Atid party, primarily due to limited realistic Knesset seats, key members have been confirmed for the joint Bennett-Lapid "Achva" (Together) faction. Notable figures expected to be on the list include former IDF Major General Noam Tibon, Merav Ben Ari, and Ram Ben Barak. The exact placement of these candidates on the unified list remains undisclosed and will be revealed at a launch event on Sunday, ahead of the list submission deadline on Tuesday evening.

One significant departure is MK Karin Elharrar, the former Minister of Energy, who announced her decision not to run in the upcoming elections. Her exit marks the end of an era for Yesh Atid, as she is the last of the founding members from the party's 2013 launch to leave parliamentary life, with Chairman Yair Lapid being the sole remaining founder.

Meanwhile, discussions are ongoing regarding potential mergers within the opposition bloc. Both Benny Gantz and Gabi Ashkenazi are reportedly interested in incorporating Chili Tropper into their respective parties. However, Tropper has indicated that he would only join as part of a package deal that includes Shira Shapira and Elissafer Peretz, who were instrumental in establishing his party. This condition complicates a simple faction-to-faction merger, especially as Tropper and Gantz's party is currently polling below the electoral threshold.
