Four Arrested at Ben Gurion Airport for Alleged Violence Against Palestinians

Israeli police apprehended four individuals at Ben Gurion International Airport on suspicion of involvement in violence against Palestinians. Among those detained were an active Israel Defense Forces soldier and several young settlers who were attempting to travel abroad. Two of the detainees were en route to Uman, Ukraine, for the Rosh Hashanah pilgrimage.

One of the arrested, a 16-year-old, is suspected of nationalistically motivated offenses in northern Samaria and has since been released on bail. Another suspect, an 18-year-old, faces charges related to arson and will appear in court for an arrest extension. A third individual, a 29-year-old man, was detained in cooperation with military police for alleged involvement in related incidents.

The arrests occurred amidst strong criticism from a U.S. diplomat regarding radical settlers. The U.S. ambassador stated in an interview that such actions significantly damage Israel's international standing, emphasizing the need for allies rather than adversaries, particularly given declining support among American voters.
