Five Suspects Arrested in West Bank Violence Probe, Two Detained at Airport

Israeli police arrested five suspects on Thursday in connection with violent incidents and disturbances in the West Bank. Two of the suspects, aged 16 and 18, were apprehended at Ben Gurion Airport as they were attempting to leave the country for Uman, Ukraine.

One 18-year-old resident of the West Bank was arrested at the airport on suspicion of involvement in multiple violent incidents and arson. He was transferred for interrogation by the Judea and Samaria District's inter-organizational command, and police intend to request an extension of his detention on Friday. A soldier serving in the IDF was also arrested in connection with these events, in cooperation with military police.

These arrests follow the detention of 11 other suspects related to incidents in the southern Hebron Hills area. In a separate incident, a 16-year-old resident of the West Bank was arrested at Ben Gurion Airport while en route to Uman. Police stated the minor was arrested by warrant on suspicion of nationalistically motivated offenses in the Samaria region. He was interrogated at the Ariel police station and released under conditions.

Another suspect, a 29-year-old, was arrested in northern Israel by court order. He is suspected of repeatedly violating an IDF commander's order, including failing to report to a police station daily as required. He has been transferred for investigation and will be brought before a court on Friday.

These arrests also include a 19-year-old suspected of involvement in an assault in the village of Qusra last Saturday. Police plan to request an extension of his detention on Friday.
