Hassidic Music Stars Unite for Orphan Support Project

A new musical project titled 'HaBen Yikir Li' (My Dear Son) has been released, featuring prominent figures in Hassidic music to support the 'HaBen Yikir Li' organization, which aids orphans. The project aims to convey the plight and prayers of orphans to God, particularly during the Elul period, a time of introspection and repentance.

The musical piece brings together renowned singers Tzvi Levin and Zanvil Weinberger, along with Aharale Samet, who add depth to the composition. A central element of the project is the participation of the Narana Choir, whose performance, featuring children who are themselves orphans, adds a profound emotional layer. The inclusion of the children's voices is intended as a genuine cry to their heavenly father, amplified during this season of mercy and forgiveness.

The melody incorporates the ancient Vizhnitz nigun (melody) 'Pinkei Hazmanim Ve'aver,' a well-known and beloved tune in the Hassidic world, reinterpreted to express deep longing for connection with the Creator. This choice is significant, especially during Elul, a time when individuals seek deeper spiritual connection, and orphans particularly feel the absence of a father figure.

Yaakov Rosemarin is credited with the arrangement, blending traditional Hassidic sounds with contemporary energy to create a rich sonic landscape. The project's musical direction and choir conducting were handled by Tzvi Levin, ensuring a cohesive and moving performance. Sound production and mixing were managed by Shruli Moses, with musical editing by Chaim Mendy Zalman and control by Leiby Sheransky. The visual aspects include design by Moshie Eisenstein and Oshi Poll, and a clip directed by Nati Albert.

The 'HaBen Yikir Li' project also serves as an awareness campaign for the organization of the same name, led by Rabbi Shlomo Tzvi. The organization provides emotional, financial, and educational support to orphans within the Haredi community, reminding the wider community of its obligation to care for these children.
