Indictment Filed Against Illegal Palestinian Worker for Groping Sleeping Woman in Jaffa

The State Prosecutor's Office has filed an indictment against Bilal Saka, a 32-year-old resident of Nablus, for committing a lewd act against a young woman in her Jaffa apartment. Saka, who was in Israel illegally, allegedly entered the woman's bedroom under the pretense of checking electrical outlets while she was asleep. He then proceeded to commit the indecent act, despite her family members being in the adjacent living room.

The indictment, filed at the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court, also charges Saka with two counts of illegal entry into Israel. According to the charges, Saka was working as an electrician on a Tama 38 urban renewal project in the building where the incident occurred approximately two weeks ago.

When the victim awoke and began to scream, her family members were just meters away in the living room. Saka reportedly denied the act to them after the woman's cries. The prosecution argued that the circumstances demonstrate Saka's dangerousness, noting the act occurred in daylight with the knowledge that family members were nearby.

The indictment specifies charges of a lewd act while exploiting a state preventing consent, and illegal entry into Israel. The prosecution has requested that Saka be held in custody until the legal proceedings against him are concluded.
