Israel Defense Minister Warns Iran of Unprecedented Retaliation for Attack

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a stark warning to Tehran on Thursday, stating that any Iranian attack on Israel would trigger an unprecedented response. "An Iranian attack on Israel would free the IDF of all restrictions," Katz declared during a speech to his ministry's employees ahead of Rosh Hashanah, as reported by Walla news.

Katz elaborated on the potential Israeli response, threatening to "destroy all national, military, and civilian infrastructure in Iran, including energy infrastructure. We will bring Iran back to the Stone Age." He asserted that the Iranian regime is well aware of why it has refrained from directly attacking Israel in recent weeks, claiming Israel has "hit them hard," "destroyed their nuclear program," "eliminated the former Supreme Leader Khamenei," and "severely damaged their strategic capabilities."

The Defense Minister also suggested that economic pressure from U.S. sanctions could push the Iranian regime "to the brink of collapse." He concluded by affirming Israel's readiness to defend itself and to attack, stating, "The IDF is ready to accomplish its mission."

These strong statements follow a similar warning from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu the previous day, who stated that an attack by Tehran against Israel would be "one of its last decisions."
