Israel's Defense Minister Warns Iran of Devastating Retaliation
Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a stark warning to Iran on Thursday, stating that any Iranian attack on Israel would remove all limitations on Israel's response, potentially returning Iran to the "Stone Age."
Speaking at a Rosh Hashanah toast event with Ministry of Defense employees, Katz indicated that signs on the ground suggest a potential escalation from Tehran. He suggested that Iran's internal pressures, including economic hardship and fear of regime collapse, might drive them to desperate actions.
Katz asserted that the Iranian regime is aware of the reasons it has avoided direct attacks thus far, citing previous Israeli actions that damaged its nuclear program, eliminated its leadership, and severely impacted its strategic capabilities.
"An Iranian attack on Israel will free Israel from any existing limitation in attacking Iran," Katz declared. He specified that Israel would strike all national military and civilian infrastructure in Iran, including energy facilities, and vowed to send Iran "deep into the Stone Age and darkness."
Despite the warning, the Defense Minister emphasized that Israel is fully prepared for any scenario, with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) ready for both defensive and offensive operations.
