Rabbi Shternbuch's 'Thousand Defenders' Campaign Nears Goal

Rabbi Mordechai Shternbuch's initiative, 'The Thousand Defenders,' aimed at supporting Torah scholars, is nearing its target of 1,000 partners. The campaign seeks to raise funds to sustain Torah study centers, which have been impacted by economic measures, including the cancellation of tax credits for donations. Currently, 902 partners have joined, enabling the enrollment of over 100 new scholars and the opening of two new yeshiva departments for the Elul period. Only 98 spots remain to complete the group of 1,000.

The campaign emphasizes the urgency of the situation, with Rabbi Shternbuch expressing distress over the perceived degradation of Torah study. The initiative offers individuals the opportunity to become partners by contributing 84 shekels per month for 36 months. Those who join during these final days, particularly before the Sabbath of Parshat Nitzavim-Vayelech, have the chance to personally meet Rabbi Shternbuch, present their contributions, and receive his blessings before the High Holy Days. For those unable to attend in person, blessings and a special 'protection coin' blessed by the Rabbi for safeguarding and prosperity are offered.

The deadline for joining is approaching, either upon the completion of the 1,000 partners or by the upcoming Sabbath. The campaign aims to counter economic challenges by expanding Torah study, reflecting a sentiment of 'They say, lest it multiply; we say, let it multiply.'
