Beloved Jerusalem Bakery "The Kiosk" to Close After Six Years

The popular Jerusalem bakery known as "The Kiosk," located in Gideon Park in the Bak'a neighborhood, is set to close its doors permanently in September after nearly six years of operation. Pastry chef David Laor announced the closure on Facebook, expressing hope that the establishment might reopen in a new location in the future.

The news was met with sadness by Jerusalem residents, who described the bakery as a magical place that served unforgettable pastries and breads. In his announcement, Laor stated that "The Kiosk" was founded with the desire to bring his meticulously crafted baked goods, made with great love, to the heart of Jerusalem, aiming to create a space offering both excellent products and a sense of soul and community.

Laor reflected on the six years, hoping they brought customers happy moments, from morning croissants and coffee to afternoon treats with children and challah for Shabbat. He invited patrons to visit for a farewell coffee and croissant before the closure.

Despite the closure of "The Kiosk," Laor confirmed that baking operations will continue at their bakery in Castel, and customers can still purchase their products there. He hinted at future possibilities, encouraging followers to stay updated on potential new locations.
