Rina Matzliach Opens Up About Grief and Life Imbalance

Israeli journalist and television personality Rina Matzliach is navigating a difficult period marked by a profound sense of imbalance and significant family loss. In a candid interview on Yael Bar Zohar's new program on Channel 16, Matzliach shared her personal struggles, detailing her life without a partner or children and the deep impact of her elder brother's passing.

Matzliach explained that the loss of her brother, who became a central figure in her life after their parents' deaths, has exacerbated her feelings of imbalance. She stated, "Because I am not married and have no children, the family, like, I am a bit out of balance in my life now, because a year ago I also lost my older brother, a very big loss, because he replaced my parents."

She also recalled her mother's final words, where her mother urged her to move forward and eventually report back that she had overcome her grief. "But she told me, you will see that you will overcome me, you will come and tell me that you have overcome it," Matzliach recounted.

Matzliach clarified that overcoming grief does not mean severing the connection or making the separation final. Instead, she described a process where the intensity of pain lessens, but the presence of her loved ones continues to accompany her. "We don't separate, but we overcome this fire inside that gives no rest, we overcome. Our parents truly die only when we die. As long as we are alive, they are with us, I live them all the time."

Amidst this challenging period and feelings of loneliness, Matzliach decided to take a practical step to ease her experience during the upcoming holiday eve by traveling abroad.
