Tel Aviv police arrested a 33-year-old Palestinian from the Ramallah area on Monday evening after a complaint that he peered into a woman’s restroom stall and filmed her at Frishman Beach. The incident came just days after another suspected sexual offense case at the same beach in Tel Aviv.
According to the complaint, the man entered the restrooms at a beachside restaurant while the woman was inside one of the stalls, looked down at her from above, and recorded her. The woman noticed him, tried to stop him, but says he shoved her and ran away. She chased him and managed to locate him near the beach before officers arrived.
Police said the suspect identified himself with a fake Israeli ID card. During questioning, he denied peering at the complainant. Investigators later determined that he was a resident of the Ramallah district staying in Israel without legal entry or residence permits.
At the court hearing, his lawyer said the man had been at the beach with his young son and had taken the child into the restroom stall at the time. The court was also told that he has a suspended sentence, a 2025 undertaking, and two prior convictions. Police asked for a five-day extension of his detention, but the court approved only two days, until June 18.
