Hostage Survivor Elkana Bohbot Names Newborn Daughter Michel in Touching Tribute

Elkana Bohbot, an Israeli who was held hostage by Hamas, and his wife Rivka have welcomed their newborn daughter, named Michel. The couple chose the name in a special gesture that references a significant moment from Bohbot's captivity. When Bohbot was flown to the hospital after his release, he wrote a message on a board for his older son, Ram, and wife: "Rami, Dad and Mom are on the way." For their daughter's arrival, the message was updated to: "Rami, Dad, Mom, and Michel are on the way."

Michel was born less than a year after her father's return from Hamas captivity and just days before her older brother, Ram, begins first grade. Bohbot, 37, is an Israeli producer who was abducted by Hamas during the October 7th attack at the Nova music festival near Re'im. He was held captive for 738 days before being released in October 2025 as part of a hostage exchange deal.

Since his return to Israel, the Bohbot family has been in the process of rebuilding their lives. The birth of their daughter marks a new chapter for the family as they celebrate its expansion and continue their recovery.
