Turkish Fan in Black-and-White Face Paint Becomes a World Cup Viral Sensation

Necdet Olçerman, a Turkey supporter, became one of the most talked-about figures at the World Cup after appearing in the stands with an unusually striking look: his face painted completely black, white hair and beard, and bright white contact lenses. He was seen during Turkey’s match against Australia, and the eerie appearance quickly went viral worldwide.

Despite the dramatic image, Olçerman is simply a longtime football fan, best known as a devoted supporter of Beşiktaş. His black-and-white face paint matches the club’s colors and has long been part of his regular look in the stands.

This was not his first time drawing attention. Football fans who followed Euro 2024 already recognized him from the terraces, where he appeared in a similar style. The World Cup, however, gave him a much bigger global platform.
