Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar met Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kestutis Budrys at the Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem. Lithuania is set to hold the rotating presidency of the European Union in the first half of 2027.
The meeting began with a one-on-one discussion between the two ministers and was followed by an expanded session with bilateral teams. The ministers agreed to keep working together to unlock the full potential of economic and technological ties between Israel and Lithuania.
During the talks, Sa'ar presented documentation of an underground tunnel network built by Hezbollah near Israel's border. According to Sa'ar, the material included command centers that had been planned for an invasion of Israel. He said, "We must dismantle the terrorist state that Hezbollah has built inside Lebanon, for the sake of the future of Israel and Lebanon."
Sa'ar also showed his Lithuanian counterpart the "incitement map" found at a PA school in Hebron, which depicts skulls instead of Israeli communities. He further detailed the Palestinian Authority's policy of paying salaries to terrorists and to their families.
