Netanyahu Could Lose Power in This Scenario, Strategist Warns

Strategic advisor Moshe Klugman stated on Wednesday that the union between Bezalel Smotrich and Moshe Feiglin is a positive step for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. However, he cautioned about the potential impact of multiple parties running on the right flank of Likud.

Klugman explained that Netanyahu has historically ensured only one party ran to the right of Likud, but the current election landscape is different, with three such parties. He recalled that the only previous instance of two parties running to Netanyahu's right resulted in him losing power.

Klugman also suggested that the political map might shift, raising the possibility that retired General Ofer Winter could eventually join the Smotrich-Feiglin union. "There is a chance Winter will unite in the end," he said.

Addressing former IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot and the "change bloc," Klugman noted that current polls do not indicate this bloc can form a government. "There is no poll that gives the change bloc 61 seats, and therefore Eisenkot does not have a government," he stated.

Given the current situation, Klugman presented two main post-election scenarios: either Israel will face additional election cycles if neither bloc secures a majority, or the parties will work towards forming a unity government. "Currently, there is a chance we will return to election rounds or a unity government," Klugman concluded.
