Shufersal and Arkia Launch a Two-Week Larnaca Flight Deal for 299 Shekels

Amid intensifying competition among credit card companies over flight discounts, Shufersal’s credit card, issued by Cal, is launching a new promotion with Arkia. For the next two weeks, new and existing Shufersal customers can buy flights to Larnaca, Cyprus, for 299 shekels. The offer is available through the Shufersal 4U website.

On paper, the price looks attractive. According to Skyscanner, the cheapest Larnaca flight from Ben Gurion Airport in the coming weeks costs a little under $200, or just under 600 shekels. Still, Shufersal says the deal does not include baggage or seat selection. It is limited to four tickets per person and will run until stocks last or June 30, whichever comes first. The promotion can be booked for many different dates, including round trips of a week, three days, and other lengths, depending on availability.

Larnaca is a popular summer destination because of its short flight time and its beach and water-based attractions. The new offer follows a 50% discount on Arkia flights and vacation packages that Shufersal offered last month.

The deal comes as the fight over airline-linked credit cards has sharpened. El Al has accused Cal of “consumer fraud” over the transfer of its Fly Card frequent flyer club from Cal to Isracard. In response, Cal launched FlyoL, a cashback-based platform with its own benefits portal. Max, the First International Bank, and Rami Levy also offer similar flight-related benefits, and more such offers may appear soon. Shufersal says its broader strategy under CEOs Yossi and Shlomi Amir includes strengthening its credit club, folding the old Shever HaZahav activity into it, launching the S-BOX card with a 600-shekel welcome bonus, and introducing a new benefits app, all aimed at creating new growth engines and boosting non-bank credit revenue.
