Police Seize Suspects' Van in West Bank Violence Investigation

Israeli police have seized a white van used by suspects in a violent incident in the Palestinian village of Qusra last Saturday. The van was located near the 'Mevaser HaShalom' outpost. During the seizure, a crowd of suspects gathered, blocking forces and throwing stones at them. Two individuals were arrested and handed over for investigation, restoring order to the area.

The incident in Qusra began when a group of Israelis entered a Palestinian home where a local family was present. What started as stone-throwing escalated into a serious confrontation requiring a large security force deployment. The Israel Defense Forces and Border Police were called to the scene to extract the Israelis from the house.

An inter-organizational investigation by the Judea and Samaria District Police and the Shin Bet security agency is ongoing to identify all perpetrators. The police have issued arrest warrants and are actively searching for additional suspects. Several other vehicles used by the suspects have also been confiscated.

The Qusra incident drew international condemnation, with senior U.S. officials demanding immediate clarification from Israel. U.S. Ambassador to Israel David Friedman strongly criticized the settlers' actions, labeling the involved Israelis as "terrorists."

In response to the events, Defense Minister Naftali Bennett instructed the IDF to prepare a plan to transfer civilian law enforcement responsibilities in Judea and Samaria to the police, stating that the military is not equipped to handle these matters.
