Israeli Forces Arrest Two Palestinian Security Officials in Hebron

Israeli forces arrested two members of the Palestinian Authority's security apparatus overnight in Hebron, following an investigation by the Judea and Samaria District Police. The operation stemmed from intelligence gathered by the Hebron station, which led to a raid about a week prior where two handguns and ammunition were seized, and a suspect was apprehended.

Further investigation and intelligence work raised suspicions about the significant involvement of two operatives from the PA's counter-terrorism security force, one of whom holds a senior rank. Authorities suspect the two were involved in transferring the seized handguns to a relative. Police stated that this activity is considered serious and could have been used for criminal or even security-related acts.

Following these developments, soldiers from the Judea Brigade, acting on precise intelligence, raided the residences of the two suspects and arrested them. The suspects, aged 28 and 52, residents of the town of Taffuh in the Hebron district, were transferred for further interrogation at the Hebron police station.

The police announced that the Judea and Samaria District, with the assistance of IDF forces, will continue to act decisively to thwart offenses related to weapons and combat equipment, locate those involved, and bring them to justice.
