Rabbi Simon Galai to Pray for Donors at Rabbi Elijah of Vilna's Tomb

Rabbi Shimon Galai, a prominent prayer leader, is traveling to Vilnius, Lithuania, to pray at the tomb of Rabbi Elijah of Vilna, known as the Vilna Gaon, a revered figure in Jewish tradition. The tomb is considered a site where "great miracles have occurred," and prayers offered there are believed to hold special power.

Rabbi Galai will be praying for individuals who donate to "Kupat Ha'ir," a charity organization that supports needy families. He stated that he has personally witnessed many miracles at the site and feels compelled to return during the days of mercy and forgiveness, leading up to Rosh Hashanah, to intercede on behalf of the donors.

During the prayer service within the holy site, Rabbi Galai will meticulously mention each individual's name. Those seeking healing, financial sustenance, a spouse, children, or any other form of salvation can submit their names to be included in the prayers. The initiative combines the power of Rabbi Galai's prayers, the merit of the Vilna Gaon, and the mitzvah (commandment) of charity.

Rabbi Galai expressed hope that those who participate will experience salvation by Hanukkah of 5787 (2026). The campaign aims to provide an opportunity for people to connect with the sacred site and contribute to a charitable cause while seeking divine intervention.
