Hate Signs Targeting Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana's Children Posted Near School

Dozens of hateful posters targeting Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana were hung along the route to his children's school on the first day of the academic year. The posters, featuring Ohana's image, bore the slogan, "No atonement for the collaborator with Hamas's funder." Ohana strongly condemned the act, stating that the political messages were not solely directed at him but were intended to harm his children, Ella and David, who were starting sixth grade, and their classmates.

"There is no violent, abhorrent, and vile camp like the one capable of soiling the first day of my children's school year like this," Ohana wrote on his social media. He emphasized that the posters lined the entire path from his home to the school, asserting, "This is not meant for me, it is meant for them, and for their classmates and schoolmates." Ohana questioned the kind of country they wished to live in and how political disputes should be resolved, placing the responsibility on the public.

He concluded by wishing all Israeli students a successful new school year, including his own children. Blue and White party leader Benny Gantz also denounced the incident as "ugly and shameful," calling for an end to divisive political discourse that tears the country apart and stains entire population groups. Gantz expressed confidence that the vast majority of opposition voters, like the majority of coalition voters, would condemn such extremist actions, stating that children deserve better.
