Journalist Ayla Haskon Defends Sara Netanyahu Amidst Controversy

Prime Minister's wife Sara Netanyahu's recent interview on Channel 14 has sparked widespread media attention and reactions from the political and journalistic spheres. Journalist Ayla Haskon of Kan News addressed the controversy, offering her perspective on Netanyahu's statements while also critically examining recent political developments and the failures leading up to the October 7th attacks.

Haskon attempted to interpret Netanyahu's intentions, suggesting a focus should be placed on the political leadership itself. "He went out there at eight and the Prime Minister was updated late, no doubt. I have no desire to spin for her. As a reporter who covered prime ministers, I covered them, not their wives. I suggest you call her and ask her about it," Haskon stated, urging the public and media to avoid spreading unsubstantiated rumors.

"There are enough troubles, no need to spread unsubstantiated theories, but undoubtedly, answers are needed for many things that happened here. There's a lump in the throat and heart from the events of October 7th. I never deal in theories, I follow facts," she added.

Haskon also highlighted serious questions regarding the performance of security and intelligence forces on the eve of the October 7th disaster. Referencing the "Jericho Wall" plan and intelligence documents, she stated, "Everything was written, everything was in the hands of Israeli intelligence two years before the attack. This presentation, which was captured by Hamas, was shown to the then-commander of the Southern Command, Toledano. Everything was written, and they ignored it."

She further elaborated on the intelligence failures, citing a "crazy blackout" from the Chief of Staff and Defense Minister down to the head of the Shin Bet, who reportedly believed Hamas leader Sinwar was focused on money and workers, not a large-scale attack.
