Young Mother and Baby Reunite With Rescuers Two Months After Life-Saving Intervention

Two months after a dramatic medical emergency, a 24-year-old pregnant woman, identified as M., and her newborn baby were reunited with the volunteer EMTs who saved their lives. M. had suddenly lost consciousness at her home due to a sudden medical event. Her family immediately called for medical assistance.

Volunteer EMTs from United Hatzalah's Binyamin chapter, Pinny Fishl, Avi Weilman, and Yoni Tzadok, arrived quickly at the scene. They provided immediate life-saving treatment, successfully stabilizing M. and her unborn child. Another United Hatzalah volunteer, Eliyahu Lintop from the Chasen unit, provided crucial psychological support to the distressed family.

The emotional reunion took place recently, with M. and her family expressing profound gratitude to the EMTs for their swift, dedicated, and determined actions during the critical moments. M.'s father described the event as indescribably difficult, stating, "We saw our dear daughter between life and death, and you fought for her with dedication and professionalism. Thanks to your quick response and the treatment you provided, we were blessed to receive her and our granddaughter as a gift. You were messengers from heaven to save two souls, and we can never thank you enough." He added that the reunion marked a deeply moving full circle for the family.

Pinny Fishl, the first responder on the scene, recounted the severity of the situation, noting M.'s unconscious state and critical condition. He emphasized the importance of every second and the collaborative effort of the additional EMTs who joined him. "We knew we were fighting not just for the mother's life, but also for the life of the baby in her womb," he said. "It is very moving to see her today standing on her feet and to know that the quick and professional response helped save their lives. These are the moments that remind us why we chose to volunteer and be available at all hours."

Efi Feldman, head of United Hatzalah's Bnei Brak branch, highlighted the critical role of their network of volunteers who are positioned throughout the city, enabling them to reach incidents within minutes and provide initial medical care before ambulance arrival. He praised the volunteers for their professionalism, determination, and sensitivity, stating that seeing M. and her daughter thriving is the ultimate reward for their efforts.
