Security Boosted for Israeli Election Committee Chair Noam Sohlberg

Security measures surrounding Supreme Court Justice and Central Elections Committee Chair Noam Sohlberg have been significantly enhanced in recent days. The decision to bolster his security detail was made by the Israel Police following an assessment of the situation and intelligence received.

The increased security is part of preparations for election day. A spokesperson for the Central Elections Committee stated that Justice Sohlberg is "secured according to security needs and Israel Police directives."

The directive for the security reinforcement was issued by the police within the last two weeks, stemming from a specific situational assessment and intelligence presented to authorized officials. The enhanced security has already been implemented on the ground.

Separately, the Elections Committee recommended providing security for Gadi Eisenkot, chairman of the "Yisrael!" party, throughout the election period. However, the committee decided against recommending security for Yair Golan, chairman of the "Democrats" party, despite a request submitted by Justice Sohlberg himself on the matter.
