Prominent Figures Attend Bris for Shlomo Kook's Son

The circumcision ceremony for the son of author and media personality Shlomo Kook, chief editor of the Haredi weekly "Bakehila," was held at the "Entrecote" restaurant in Jerusalem. The event drew a large crowd of prominent figures, including rabbis, government ministers, Knesset members, business leaders, and media professionals.

The role of Sandak, who holds the baby during the ceremony, was given to the paternal grandfather, Rabbi Mordechai Suissa, a leading rabbi in Bat Yam. The blessings were delivered by the maternal grandfather, Rabbi Ben Zion HaCohen Kook, a prominent halachic decisor. Rabbi Kook wore a special tallit that belonged to his teacher, Rabbi Elyashiv.

A particularly moving moment occurred when the baby was named Avraham Yitzchak HaCohen Kook, a name that surprised and touched many attendees. The Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi Kalman Meir Bar, was honored with standing for the blessings. During the celebratory meal, Rabbi Bar praised Shlomo Kook as an "ambassador for sanctifying God's name in the media."

The ceremony also featured the renowned mohel Rabbi Moshe Weissberg. Rabbi Arieh Leib Pepper, publisher of "Bakehila," sat in the Chair of Elijah, and senior rabbinical advocate Rabbi Mordechai Sheinin occupied the "Kisei shel Eliyahu." The musical entertainment was provided by singers Chaim Yisrael, Kobi Brumer, Shimi Weiss, and Kobi Mirsky, accompanied by Shragee Frank, klezmer musicians, and keyboardist Aharele Goldman. The event concluded with a soulful gathering featuring songs for the High Holidays.
