Bnei Akiva Prepares Jerusalem Events to Honor Rabbi Kook's Legacy

The Bnei Akiva youth movement is organizing events on the 3rd of Elul in Jerusalem to commemorate Rabbi Abraham Isaac Kook. Secretary-General Yigal Klein explained that these gatherings aim to connect young members to Rabbi Kook's teachings and to strengthen the realization of his vision in Torah study, military service, state-building, and unity among different segments of Israeli society.

Klein emphasized that tens of thousands of Bnei Akiva youth today feel deeply connected to Rabbi Kook's writings and path, which are actively shaping their lives. He also highlighted the influence of Rabbi Drukman’s legacy, noting that nearly 100,000 youth look to his teachings that open doors to all of Israel and build the army, reinforcing the integration of Torah and military service.

Addressing the movement's inclusive approach, Klein pointed to recent cooperation between Bnei Akiva and the secular youth movement Noar HaOved VeHalomed, who together read the Book of Lamentations on Tisha B’Av and discussed Israel’s shared future. He also mentioned the "National Bus" project, a joint initiative with other youth movements, which brings representatives together twice a year to travel across the country during key periods, fostering encounters with diverse communities.

These commemorative events in Jerusalem are expected to serve as a milestone for Bnei Akiva members and the wider public in exploring their identity and public engagement, continuing Rabbi Kook’s pioneering efforts to unite different parts of the nation.
