Prominent Biala Hasid Rabbi Avraham Yechiel Rosenbach Dies Suddenly at 64

Rabbi Avraham Yechiel Rosenbach, a leading figure in the Biala Hasidic community in Bnei Brak, passed away suddenly early Sunday morning at the age of 64 due to a heart attack. He had delivered a Torah discourse at the Biala Hasidic shtibel in the Shikun Heh neighborhood on Saturday evening, where he spoke about the dangers of technology in the modern era. He went to sleep Saturday night and did not wake up.

The funeral procession will begin at his home at 16 Ganei Gad Street in Bnei Brak at 1:30 PM on Sunday, before proceeding to the main Biala Hasidic synagogue on Yaakobson Street in Jerusalem at 5:15 PM, with burial to follow on Har HaMenuchot.

Born in Haifa in 1962, Rabbi Rosenbach was the eldest son of Rabbi Eliezer Dov Rosenbach, a respected Torah scholar in Haifa. He studied at the Torat Emet Talmud Torah in Haifa and was known for his diligence. He later studied at the Ponevezh Yeshiva for Youth, where he was a devoted student of Rabbi Mordechai Yehuda Leibowitz. He married the daughter of Rabbi Yosef Halevi Horowitz, a Rosh Yeshiva of Ger in Tel Aviv and a survivor of the Mir Yeshiva in Shanghai.

As a devoted Biala Hasid, Rabbi Rosenbach was deeply connected to the Rebbes of the dynasty. He was known as a brilliant scholar who delivered regular classes in Tel Aviv and engaged in outreach to the unaffiliated. He also had ties to the Garlitz Rebbe in Shikun Heh. He is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, including his son, Rabbi Yaakov Shraga Feivel Rosenbach, a dayan (rabbinic judge) and rabbi for the Biala Hasidim in Beitar.
