Israeli Soccer Player Thauy Abed Joins Valladolid on Loan After Sevilla Deal Collapses

Soccer player Thauy Abed's anticipated transfer to Sevilla has fallen through due to high demands from his current club, Levante, regarding a purchase clause, and anti-Israeli reactions to his potential signing. Consequently, Abed has agreed to a loan move to second-division Spanish club Valladolid until the end of the season.

Abed initially hesitated to join a lower-tier team, rejecting Valladolid's advances multiple times. However, after a conversation with the club's owner, chief scout, professional manager, and the head of the local Jewish community, he was convinced of Valladolid's strong interest and commitment to him as a guaranteed starter. The club has reportedly been tracking Abed for two years.

The loan agreement includes an option for an additional season if Valladolid is promoted to the top league. Valladolid also holds a purchase option for Abed at the end of the loan spell for 20 million euros, with Abed entitled to 25% of any transfer fee Levante receives.
